Stonefields Estate Wedding
Nina and Mike | A beautiful fall wedding at Stonefields Estate
Oh you guys. You’re in for a treat with this one. Nina and Mike’s incredible Stonefields Estate wedding is certainly one for the books, and not just because of the venue. Their entire day was completely intentional, carefully planned, and beautifully thought out.
When I first spoke with them, they told me they really wanted to maximize the modern look of the Ceremony House at Stonefields. So we did end up doing the majority of their portraits in front of the building, since it was such a beautiful (and minimal) backdrop.
The vendors involved in the day
Nina and Mike approached me at the end of their wedding day to thank me, and to also let me know that they had only sought out the very best Ottawa wedding vendors to be part of their dream team. And how lucky am I to be part of that?! I am so grateful for clients like these two, because they truly are such incredibly thoughtful people. With that said, here’s the full list of “Very Best Ottawa Wedding Vendors” to credit:

The story of how Nina and Mike met
I’m going to let the couple tell their story in their own words:
“We met 16 years ago, in 2005, in the main hallway of our High School in Cobourg, Ontario. Nina was 14 and still new to high school, Mike was 16 and the cool guy, with a ton of friends and quite the party reputation. Though we wanted to, we never officially dated in high school. But we were always great friends.
Fast forward to 2013: Nina had just graduated university and moved home to save money to travel, and Mike was returning home from England. So we decided to catch up.
In our first few years together, we had the time of our lives. From first dates, to traveling Europe in the trip of a lifetime, our relationship grew. But we also faced some of the hardest times of our life. This made us realize very early on that we were going to be in this together for the long haul no matter what was thrown our way; It’s always been Mike & Nin.”
The Stonefields Estate Wedding
It’s no secret that Stonefields Estate is one of the most beautiful (and luxurious) venues in Ottawa. And for good reason. The staff truly go out of their way to give everyone an exceptional experience, and the service is second to none. As a wedding vendor, I have nothing but great things to say about Stonefields. And I look forward to every wedding I photograph in their spectacular space.
Nina and Mike’s day truly was a heartfelt one, and I believe their venue suited them as a couple perfectly. It was a polished and modern wedding, with a cozy atmosphere and an appreciation for nature. The day started with champagne and pretty details, followed by portraits.
The Stonefields Ceremony House
Often referred to as the White Chapel, the Ceremony House is a newer addition to the Stonefields Estate. It opened in 2019, just 2 years prior to Nina and Mike’s wedding. It’s a beautiful, modern, whitewashed space that creates a stunning backdrop for ceremonies and portraits alike. We had a lot of fun taking photos in front of the Ceremony House afterwards.
Reception in the Loft and Sunset Photos
Nina and Mike hosted the evening portion of their wedding in the Loft: a restored 110 year old barn. It’s beautifully adorned with chandeliers, making it a great space to host larger groups in. We were also able to sneak them away for some sunset photos. The Stonefields staff are always so great about collaborating with the other vendors around this. They assisted us in setting up a small picnic for Nina and Mike to enjoy, and it allowed the couple to truly relax and take in the festivities of the day!
