Red Pine Camp Wedding
Katrina and Mark | A retro-inspired Red Pine Camp Wedding
Katrina and Mark have a beautiful love story. They went to elementary school and high school together. They became friends in grade 9 and by the end of the year, they started dating. Since they ended up in two different cities for post-secondary, the distance was too much. After years of remaining friends, either luck or fate would have it that Mark got accepted into school in Toronto. And so the relationship rekindled and they have been inseparable ever since!
They decided to have their wedding at a place that fit them so perfectly as a couple: Red Pine Camp. Since they both love the outdoors and have adopted an adventurous lifestyle together, it was the perfect venue located just outside of Ottawa.

The vendors involved in the day
I am a firm believer that wedding days are a team sport, and they require all vendors to collaborate to make it magical. With that said, here is the list of the incredible vendors involved in making Katrina and Mark’s wedding day a beautiful reality:
Photography: Lauren McCormick Photography
Videography: Matt & Kat Films
Venue: Red Pine Camp
Dress: BHLDN
Suit: Sur Mesur
Stationary: Wix Online
Donut Wall: Mavericks Donuts
The story of how they got engaged:
I’ll hand it over to Katrina to describe their engagement in her own words because no one can say it better: “We went to New Zealand for my sister’s wedding. After the wedding, we decided to take a week or so for ourselves and tour the North Island together. We drove to many beautiful locations, but one night on the massive beach in Whangamata with not another person in sight, we started dancing on the sand under the starry sky. It was there that he dropped the knee.” And now here we are!
The Red Pine Camp Wedding
Having fun was the most important factor for Katrina and Mark on their wedding day. They wanted to have a stress-free, easy day surrounded by their family and friends. They kept their timeline plans simple and made space for a lot of quality time with their guests. They decided to get ready in separate spaces, and have their pup join them for a private first look in the forest!

Dockside Portraits
The great thing about Red Pine Camp is the variety in beautiful outdoor landscapes. It was incredible to have so many different locations to shoot in. Pair that with an adventurous couple like Katrina and Mark, and this wedding was truly a photographer’s dream.

Outdoor forest ceremony
Once we wrapped up portraits, the guests started to filter in for the ceremony. The entire day felt very relaxed and casual, making for a really great experience for everyone. One of my favourite moments: the ceremony started off with a “ring bear” (the cutest!) followed by some incredibly emotional vows and ring exchange. The cocktail hour commenced immediately afterwards with a dramatic champagne pop to set the night on the right course! Before leaving for the evening, I was able to sneak Katrina and Mark away for a few minutes for some dreamy sunset portraits near the water. We incorporated some sparklers in these photos for an added flair, which I highly recommend to anyone wanting to give a little extra “pop” to their photos!

Such a sweet outdoor wedding! Loving all their personal details you captured!
