A local photographer’s guide to the most beautiful Ottawa photography locations!

One of my favourite things to do is scout locations! For real though. I invest a lot of time into finding the perfect location for my couples. Whether you are taking engagement photos or wedding photos, choosing the right spot is important. I work closely with all of my clients to find the right spot. Since I’ve been collecting a list of my favourite spots, I wanted to share them with you!

I want to highlight a few things to consider when choosing a location. Firstly, think about the time of year you’ll be taking photos. Are you shooting in the summer or winter? Or the spring or fall? The season you choose will give a dramatically different look to your photos.

Secondly, it’s good to consider the time of day you’ll be shooting at. My favourite times are sunrise and sunset. This is because they both give that dreamy golden hour light! If you are unsure about timing, let me know and I can help you.

Thirdly, and most importantly, the location you choose will be forever memorialized in your photos. Because of this, selecting a location that fits your personality as a couple is important. It’s also great if the location reflects the things you love or has some sort of meaning to you. These factors will all play into how you will experience your session. Similarly, it will affect how you will remember it. The more you enjoy yourselves during your session, the happier you will look in your photos. It’s a win-win!

Because my business is based in Ottawa, I have compiled a list of my favourite Ottawa photography locations. These are some of the best spots the city has to offer. I hope you can enjoy what I’ve put together, and share the resource with those who may need it!

Scroll down to check out the list. I’ve categorized the locations into the following sections:
