Mill Street Brewery Wedding

Sarah and Mike | An intimate fall wedding at Mill Street Brewery

Sarah and Mike got married on a brisk November day at Mill Street Brewery. For those who aren’t familiar, Mill Street is a local Ottawa brewery. It’s one of my personal favs and has an amazing selection of beers on tap. They also have a restaurant and patio for patrons to enjoy a nice meal while overlooking the Ottawa River. The brewery is also host to a beautiful event space that caters to weddings, which is where Sarah and Mike decided to say their “I dos”.

Since all the guests were travelling in from out of town, they wanted to get married in Ottawa because of the accessibility between their wedding venue and nearby hotels. This made for a super easy transition from one location to another. Because of this, we also got some great variety in their photos.

Getting Ready at the Delta Hotel

On the morning of their wedding day, I met up with the couple at the Delta Hotel. I captured each of them getting ready. They had an incredibly emotional first look in the lobby of the hotel, along with a surprise. Sarah had secretly helped coordinate a visit with one of Mike’s relatives. His uncle flew all the way from Italy to be part of their wedding day. It was so heartwarming to witness and see.

The Delta Hotel is a great space to get ready in, especially if you’re hosting your wedding somewhere nearby (like Mill Street) or anywhere in Centretown in Ottawa.

Sparks Street Portraits and Venue Decor

Along with their wedding party, we ventured over to Sparks street to take photos. We braved the cold wind and winter elements to get the shots we needed. But luckily, we had that perfect November soft light on our side making it all worth it! Afterwards, we made our way to Mill Street Brewery for their intimate ceremony.

Ceremony and Sunset Photos

Their ceremony was so beautiful, and they even included their daughters in the most amazing way. The officiant had prepared a document for all the girls to sign, so they could act as “witness” to their parents getting married. It was a family wedding certificate that they planned on framing afterwards.

Once they were officially newlyweds, we did some outdoor family portraits in front of Mill Street. Immediately afterwards, we snuck Sarah and Mike away for some sunset couples portraits before their party officially began. All in all, it was such a beautiful day to be part of!
