Manoir de la Forêt Wedding

Christine and Stephen | An intimate Manoir de la Forêt Wedding

I am so very excited to introduce you to one of my very favourite days: Christine and Stephen’s Manoir de la Forêt wedding! The first time I met Christine and Stephen in person was at Little Victories Coffee Roasters in Ottawa, ON and it was perfectly suited for all of us. We all clicked so quickly and bonded over our love of coffee. We snuggled up as they told me their story, one that I’m happy to share with all of you.

The vendors involved in the day

This wedding was an incredibly detailed and thoughtful one, with every small item intentionally thought out. A day like this would not be possible without the incredible vendor team behind it. With that said, a huge shoutout goes out to some of my favourites:

The story of how Christine and Stephen got engaged

Since these two have been together for a decade, I was excited to hear the story of how they got engaged. Here’s how they told it:

“After being together for 10 years, it’s hard to capture that ‘surprise’ factor. Honestly, we had discussed it a lot, but never made the concrete plans. We knew, though, that 10 years was a big milestone, and to celebrate it with a wedding was something that would really special to both of us. [Steve] still managed to surprise me with the big question, though! That story, too, happened as naturally as anything else does with us. On a Thursday night, with Frasier on TV, and with pizza as a prop, he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him, knowing full well the answer could only be yes.”

Their forest first look

I arrived at the venue on the morning of their wedding just as Christine was finishing up her hair and make up. She put on her final details, got into her dress, and we led her out to the forest where Stephen was waiting for her. The great thing about Manoir de la Forêt is that everything is on site. So it’s really not a far walk to get from A to B. We chose a beautiful shaded area in the forest to do their first look, and it was an amazing moment!

Portraits and Customized Details

After sharing their first look in the heart of the forest, we were joined by the wedding party to do some photos before their ceremony. Following that, we also took some time to do a few couples portraits (because how could we not?!) The day was very calm and relaxed, which made for a beautiful experience.

As for the overall wedding aesthetic, Christine and Stephen have exceptional style, so everything looked elegant, natural, and classy. A lot of the decor was actually done by Christine herself. I always love a good DIY project, but this girl took the details to the next level!

Forest Ceremony and Sunset Photos

Once their guests arrived, everyone gathered in the forest chapel for the ceremony. Manoir de la Forêt is truly one of the most beautiful venues in Ottawa if you’re looking to have an outdoor ceremony! Afterwards, the guests all gathered on the terrace of the main building for cocktail hour while I snuck Christine and Stephen away for a few sunset portraits. All in all, it was a beautiful day that I was honoured to be a part of!
