Leah and Mark | A rainy London engagement session
There’s no better story than an international love story! Leah grew up in Canada, and Mark is from England. They met while Leah was in the UK on a work trip.
While she was in London, Leah decided to go on the dating app Bumble, where she came across Mark and swiped right. In the meantime, Mark was traveling to France that day and his taxi just happened to pass by Leah’s hotel room en route to the airport. As the app only connects people who are in the same vicinity as each other, they managed to be a match!
After a week of continuous messaging, Mark and Leah decided to Skype for the first time. They immediately hit it off. A few weeks later, the two started to talk about how they could meet in person, and they knew this would be something special. Leah was planning to visit Iceland that summer so they agreed to book a blind date trip together. They kept in touch until then and talked almost every day for months.
Finally, their trip arrived, and Leah and Mark traveled across Iceland staying in Airbnbs and camper vans. During their trip, Mark told Leah he loved her, and they became an official couple. The relationship continued to grow and develop, and Leah made the decision to move to the UK to be closer to Mark. During a New Years trip to Budapest, Mark proposed to Leah.
Mark had spent the entire day trying to find the perfect place to propose. There were too many people around and Mark wanted to make sure the moment was special and private. Mark had convinced Leah to go back to the Fisherman’s Bastion after dinner, he said he wanted to see parliament all lit up at night. They walked across the bridge and over to the spot he had in mind. When they arrived, fireworks went off nearby (a lovely coincidence). Mark was dragging Leah around trying to find a private area. He then found a balcony overlooking the river with no one around. Mark got down on one knee and asked Leah to marry him. She said YES!
I was fortunate enough to document their engagement in London. We met up just before sunrise, and although we didn’t quite get the sun we anticipated, the weather still granted us some beautiful photographs! Scroll down to see their full engagement session!
