Carleton Place Grand Hotel Wedding

Traci-Ann and Alasdair | A romantic Carleton Place Grand Hotel Wedding

Ahhh the Carleton Place Grand Hotel Wedding. This is one of the dreamiest autumn weddings I’ve had the privilege of photographing. Traci-Ann and Alasdair are two of the sweetest human beings, and the love they have for each other is absolutely inspiring. They chose an incredible team of vendors who made the day perfect, and it was such an honour photographing this wedding! Also, Carleton Place is an incredible little town perfect for weddings!

The Indoor Fireplace Ceremony

The day started off with a slight change of plans, since the couple had been wanting an outdoor ceremony. Unfortunately the weather called for rain all day, so we improvised and called in our Rain Plan option. Luckily the wedding planner was a huge help in re-arranging everything!

Preparing for rain is one thing I help all of my couples with. We always make sure there is a solid back-up plan in place, in case we cannot make the outdoor options work. In the case of Traci-Ann and Alasdair, the rain plan was to have an indoor ceremony. Since the space is absolutely beautiful, it allows for gorgeous photos! From a photography standpoint, the lighting is great since there is natural light flooding in from all angles. It is also beautifully painted, and the colour tones really match the autumn decor.

Rainy Day Portraits and Venue Decor

Following their ceremony, we ventured off to a few different locations for their wedding party portraits and couples portraits. Despite the rain, these two truly wanted that beautiful outdoor light. So we certainly maximized the time we had and made the most of it! I find rainy portraits are some of my favourite and feel so moody and romantic.

We then went back to the Carleton Place Grand Hotel for some more wedding portraits. But this time, we made the most of the venue’s space and used their rooftop for photographs! It was such a beautiful space to shoot in.
