An urban Toronto elopement

X

This may just be the most beautiful urban Toronto elopement I’ve seen to date. Nadia + Karl found me through Facebook and reached out. They wanted to structure their wedding day a bit different than most people, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to hear that. (If you haven’t already guessed, non-traditional weddings are my  jam…)

They knew that a traditional big wedding was not what they wanted, so they decided to elope at Toronto City Hall with their closest family and friends by their side. Before the ceremony, we wandered the streets of Toronto taking photos wherever we pleased. It was the most relaxed + laid back wedding morning I’ve witnessed to date.

One of the photos I took at their ceremony actually ended up winning a Photographers Keeping It Real Award. It placed third overall for the 2018 Spring Awards which celebrates true documentary-style wedding photography!

After their ceremony, they set off to Europe for a two week honeymoon. When they returned, they threw the party of the century at Boxcar Social Club on the Toronto harbour front. With a clear view of the CN Tower hovering over the venue, the night was truly magical. During their speech, they talked about how they had attended so many of their friends weddings in the past. They liked and disliked different things from all of those weddings, and decided to implement all of the ideas that they loved into their own.

If you’re considering eloping but don’t know where to start, feel free to contact me. I’d be more than happy to give you some good ideas and starting points! In the meantime, enjoy the gallery!

Wow; when I think of elopement, the city doesn’t come to mind but this session changed that! How unique to elope right in the middle of Toronto!
